Pou Nou was founded in 1986, when people still measured time by repeated gestures and learned their craft by watching others. With fabrics, patterns and the quiet of the workshop, the brand's history is deeply rooted in the textile trade. First in Mataró, then in Menorca, where it found more than just a new base: here, it discovered its own unique pace.

Art, craftsmanship and the Mediterranean

It all began with simple cotton T-shirts, sold by the seaside, designed to wear on long summer days. Honest, unpretentious garments, made almost exactly as they always had been. Years later, Joan decided to view these T-shirts in a different light. He realised they could be something else: a medium, a canvas, a meeting point between art and clothing.

And it was from here that the first collaborations with like-minded illustrators and creators started to take shape, with the introduction of handmade prints crafted one by one in the workshop itself. What started as a hunch became the essence of Pou Nou.

Over time, the brand has continued to grow at a steady pace. New silhouettes, fabrics and seasonal collections emerged. The range expanded, becoming more comprehensive and sophisticated. Pou Nou moved beyond summer wear to become a part of everyday life throughout the year.

We design and produce our garments by combining contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. We work with high-quality materials, natural fibres and meticulous processes, producing locally and printing each piece by hand. We believe in preserving a craft that we see as both a legacy and a responsibility.
